These terms are a plain-language template and not legal advice. Before relying on them commercially, have them reviewed against the law of the jurisdiction you operate in and insert your legal entity name and governing law where marked.
1. Agreement
By creating an account or using VidiScoop (“the service”) you agree to these terms. If you are using the service for an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms on its behalf. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. What the service is
VidiScoop is a research and content-planning tool. It reads publicly available news feeds, groups reports of the same event, ranks stories against a channel profile you define, and generates suggested titles, descriptions, tags and thumbnail briefs.
It does not publish to YouTube, does not request access to your YouTube account, and does not make editorial decisions for you. Every publishing decision is yours.
3. Your account
- You must provide accurate registration details and keep your password secure.
- You are responsible for activity under your account.
- One account is for one person or organisation; do not share credentials.
- Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service to produce content that is unlawful, defamatory, or that knowingly misrepresents facts.
- Attempt to bypass plan limits, rate limits or access controls.
- Access other users’ data, probe the service for vulnerabilities without permission, or disrupt its operation.
- Resell or redistribute the service as your own product without a written agreement.
- Use the service in a way that breaches the terms of any news source, AI provider or platform involved.
Security research is welcome; please report findings privately to support@vidiscoop.com rather than publicly.
5. Accuracy, AI output and your editorial responsibility
This section matters more than any other on this page. The service surfaces third-party reporting and produces machine-generated suggestions. Both can be wrong.
- Scores and verdicts are estimates of opportunity, not statements of fact or verification.
- A coverage count reflects how many outlets were clustered together — it is a useful signal, not confirmation that a story is true.
- Generated titles, descriptions and tags are drafts. You are responsible for checking them for accuracy before publishing.
- We do not guarantee views, click-through rate, monetisation, ranking or any other outcome.
You remain the publisher of anything you upload, and responsible for its accuracy and legality.
6. Third-party services and AI keys
If you supply an API key for a third-party AI provider, requests are made under your account with that provider, billed by that provider, and governed by that provider’s terms. The same applies to the YouTube Data API if you enable competition checks. We are not responsible for those providers’ availability, pricing, output or policy changes.
News sources are third-party publishers. Feeds occasionally fail, change or disappear, and we do not control their content.
7. Plans, billing and cancellation
- The free plan is available at no cost and may have usage limits that change over time.
- Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or annually, and renew automatically until cancelled.
- You can upgrade, downgrade or cancel at any time; changes take effect from the next billing period.
- On downgrade, data over the new plan’s limits becomes read-only rather than being deleted.
- Prices may change with at least 30 days’ notice to existing subscribers before the change takes effect.
- Except where the law requires otherwise, payments already made are non-refundable.
8. Your content and ours
You keep ownership of everything you put into the service — your channel profiles, keywords, feeds and notes — and of the packages generated for you. You grant us only the permission needed to store and process that content in order to run the service.
We keep ownership of the service itself: the software, interface, scoring methodology and branding. These terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it while your account is active.
9. Availability
We aim for high availability but do not promise uninterrupted service. Maintenance, third-party outages and feed failures happen. Where a feed or provider fails, the service is designed to continue with what remains and report what was missing.
10. Suspension and termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, creates a security or legal risk, or has unpaid fees — with notice where it is reasonable to give it. On termination, your right to use the service ends and data is deleted in line with the privacy policy.
11. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent the law allows. To that same extent, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, including lost views, lost revenue or lost opportunity, and our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email or in the product at least 14 days before taking effect, and the date at the top will change. Continuing to use the service afterwards means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator of the service is established, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts. [Insert your legal entity and governing jurisdiction before launch.]
